Recognizing a Hero – Dr. J. Nwando Olayiwola

Wow! February is almost gone and I’m still working on some blogs I want to post in reflection of the Black History month. Then, suddenly, out of nowhere, this human story emerged! So, for the Black History month, we salute Dr. J. Nwando Olayowola (nee Onyejekwe)! Actually, Dr. Olayiwola (a medical doctor) is my daughter, and I cannot express enough pride in what she did with her Lyft Driver who was suffering from a heart attack as he was driving her home. From SFO. She not only kept him calm and saved his life as she called for Emergency Services, she ignored her own and immediate personal needs from a long trip, and displayed a great emotional quotient (EQ). While other news media have covered this story succinctly, including Bay Area ABC News, I’m providing you with a link to read the narrative, so you will understand what happened. Also, since the Lyft driver is of limited means, Dr. Olayiwola is assisting him in getting a primary care physician. Therefore, we salute Dr. J. Nwando Olayiwola, as our first hero in this Black History month!

Thank you, Nwando for another life saved!
